1st November 2009 - Non severe storm, Bungendore, NSW Click any image for much larger size The 2009/2010 storm season started poorly and looked to be going down the path of the previous two years.  These years (and this one so far) were plagued in the first half of the season by a lack of moisture, especially in the SE of the continent.  In a cruel twist when we did get some borderline moisture , wind shear deserted us. Desperate for a chase I took a punt on a low shear day, just to see lightning if nothing else. The first promising  cells of the day - but very high based A slightly stronger pulse goes up. I target this cell We took a road heading SE from Bungendore where we encountered this non-severe but very pretty base.
