26th March 2008 - Offshore Lightning - Illawarra Coast
Despite
a sharp mid to upper trough storms were not expected on this day. By
late evening however the lapse rate over the warm 22C ocean combined with the cool dry air aloft led to weak but
lightning active storms 50-75 kilometres offshore. |
