It
was one of those after work chases where you did not even have
intentions of chasing. When I got home from work I noticed an isolated
cell over remote country that had a black core on radar - a tell tale
sign of hail. In the hour drive up onto the southern highlands the cell
started to decay badly - in fact this was all that was left of that
cell.
I thought that I had been duded , another bust. However immediately to my west and in the space of just 10 mins this vigorous congestus tower took my interest..
Heading
west and another 15 mins and the base had expanded and was
backbuiding...backbuilding towards inaccessable countryside that is.
Sorry for picture quality as I had to look right into the sun.
Once out of reach the cell started to throw
down intense lightning ( seen on video). I deeply suspect had the NW
flank of this storm been accessable that we would have seen LP stucture.
Some of the crawlers as the strom dies over "no mans land".
